Get Closer
Oval Form with Strings and Color by British artist Barbara Hepworth
I really found the way all the strings intersected and crossed very interesting. It is a piece that you could look at for a long time. Shape is something that is very predominate in this sculpture. There are just so many layers of stings that you would not notice from far, however if you really get closer and look, it has more depth.
Kouros by American artist Isamu Noguchi
This sculpture it very smooth and has no texture at all. The marble has been cut so precisely in such flowing edges. The whole piece is fluid and had movement. I really enjoyed this sculpture.
Tango by American artist Martin Puryear
This piece is so simple, which is why I enjoyed it so much. I often am drawn to things that forcus on one thing, and do not have to much going on at once. I am a big believer in, less is more.
Untitled by American Artist Joel Shapiro
This sculpture also had a lot of great angles and shapes. The color was also something that I was drawn to. All of the turns and twist in the sculpture made you want to continue looking at it. I chose to photography the main point of intersection because I liked the idea of them all meeting together and becoming one.
Self Portrait by American Artist Andy Wharhol
Andy Wharhol as always been a favorite. The whole pop art culture and time period is something that I have always found intriguing. I love how he has taken something as simple as a self portrait and turned it into so much more. It is so much more interesting because of the color overlay.
This assignment really made me look at every piece of art. I spent a lot of time trying to find the most interesting aspects of everything I looked at. Then it was about trying to determine if it was photo worthy.

Narrative Paintings
In Vincent Van Gogh's self portrait I also want to portray the same feeling. I wanted you to be able to see the same uncomfortableness that Van Gogh had with him self.
