Narrative Paintings

For the first painting I chose Gustave Courbet's self portrait. what I wanted to accomplish was the same feeling that Courbet was going for. I wanted to capture the same look in eye.

In Vincent Van Gogh's self portrait I also want to portray the same feeling. I wanted you to be able to see the same uncomfortableness that Van Gogh had with him self.
